General Biographical Description: Dr Morrison has served as Chairman, Vice Chairman and Chief of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and The Research Division of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He is certified as a diplomate in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and by the American College of Surgeons. He has been President of the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, The Central Association of OB/GYN, The Southern Perinatal Association, the Society for Obstetrics, Anesthesia and Perinatology, and the South Central Obstetricians/Gynecologists Society. Dr Morrison has Chaired the Technical Bulletin Committee of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as well as, ACOG education courses and has been an Examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has authored, co-authored, or edited over five hundred peer-reviewed journal articles, 100 book chapters, 3 books, and many other invited publications concerning obstetrics and gynecology and maternal/fetal health. He has received more than sixty research grants as principal investigator or co-investigator in these areas. He has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Perinatology, the Journal of Maternal-Fetal Investigation, Southern Medical Journal, American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and other medical journals. Dr Morrison is currently Professor and Emeritus of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pediatrics.
