Cryoglobulin

Cryoglobins are unusual proteins that precipitate out of solution at low temperatures and reversibly re-dissolve on warming. Their presence is associated with:
  • Auto-immune diseases, including:
    • Poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis
    • Rheumatoid arthritis
    • Lupus
    • Sjoegren's syndrome
    • Polyarteritis nodosum
  • Infectious illnesses, including:
    • Mononucleosis
    • Syphilis
    • Cytomegalovirus
    • Leprosy
    • Sarcoidosis
  • Malignancies, specifically:
    • Multiple myeloma
    • Chronic lymphocytic leukemia
