Would you know how to counsel Miss Grainger regarding her immunization status with respect to her future potential pregnancy?

 

 

Patient:  Miss Grainger 

 

Miss Grainger's History & Medications

 

Order the following titers:

• Varicella
• Rubella
• Tetanus
• HBV (because she works in an at-risk environment)

 

Offer her vaccines for any of these diseases to which she’s not currently immune as well as an influenza vaccine. Make sure that if she receives any live vaccines (e.g., varicella, MMR, or nasal flu shot) she should not try to conceive for at least one month. She is not a candidate for pneumovax (she has splenic function) nor HPV vaccine (she is out of age range).
